Our social‑enterprise Café is more than a place to grab a cuppa — it’s a space built for community. Every coffee poured and every meal served supports local training opportunities, helping people develop real skills in hospitality, customer service, and café operations. It’s hands‑on learning in a supportive environment, where confidence grows alongside capability.
When you choose to visit the Café, you’re not only enjoying good food and coffee — you’re directly supporting the wellbeing of local community members. Proceeds from the Café help us provide assistance to people experiencing crisis or those who may need a little extra support.
We were delighted to welcome a steady stream of customers on our first day of operations at Café 19 Bright Street. It was wonderful to see familiar faces and meet new community members who came along to show their support. The atmosphere was warm and relaxed, with plenty of friendly conversations and smiles shared across the café.
The weather couldn’t have been better — sunny, calm, and perfect for enjoying a coffee in the garden. Many visitors chose to sit outside with friends, creating a lovely sense of connection and community right from the start.
Opening day gave us a strong reminder of why this café matters: it’s a place where people can gather, feel welcome, and enjoy something made with care. We’re grateful to everyone who stopped by and helped make our first day such a positive beginning.
